Two years later!?!

Wow, my last entry was when I started my new my full time job...in October 2006! Here's a character sketch really taking a lot from the Mary Blair handbook, but really who's not guilty of that?

Today was the last field trip for me for awhile at 826 NYC, I was officially fired by Mr. Mildew...possibly the first one to actually ever be let go. I came in with a story about a clown pancake and her bowl of rice friend and went out with a story about a mean pimply potato who lived inside a boy.

Fry

Been really busy this week working on this stuff...I would have been drawing and sticking up posters, but got sidetracked by freelance work. Vandalism will have to hold off till some other week.

Busy Bee

My brother-in-law owns a wildly popular sandwich shop down in San Pedro, CA that literally has lines out the door everyday. I like the ham and cheese myself, although you can't go wrong with any of the hot subs. This is the new logo I'm working on that will eventually grace the butcher paper that each sandwich gets wrapped up in. Seriously go get a sammich and some chips there if you're ever in the area.

Madison

The first wheat pasting I attempted was done for a wintersession class at RISD three years ago. These posters were all hand drawn with sharpies on rolled newsprint paper, cut out and pasted up with gel medium in the dead of winter in the abandoned masonic temple in Providence, RI which has since been renovated into a four star hotel.

Runaways

I did these a year ago while in San Francisco. It was a bit disappointing seeing how fast they would get taken down.
But I always felt that putting my characters outside in a urban setting was where they really belong. I desperately need to get back out onto the streets to post up more runaways.
